This wonderfully unique vintage Phinney-Walker alarm clock features a beautiful textured case made with what appears to be crushed seashell set in resin, surrounding a classic round clock face.
The combination of the shimmering shell pieces, warm gold-tone finish, petite scroll-style feet, and unusual shape makes this such a fun example of mid-century decorative design.
The dial is marked PHINNEY-WALKER and ALARM, while the back of the movement is marked SEMCA CLOCK CO. INC. The clock has a mechanical wind-up movement and a charming little built-in stand, allowing it to sit upright on a dresser, bedside table, vanity, or shelf.
Phinney-Walker clocks were produced in a variety of cases and movements, including clocks associated with Semca Clock Co. and German-made movements.

The shell/resin case has wonderful vintage character and remains visually striking. The gold-tone metal surfaces and clock movement show substantial patina, oxidation, spotting, and wear consistent with age, particularly on the back.
The clock has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy or alarm function, so I would list it as untested rather than saying it works.
